Refund Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
There are two separate things on this page. The first is your statutory right under EU law. The second is a promise I make on top of it, which is more generous. You can rely on whichever helps you more.
The short version
If you buy it, read it, and it doesn't tell you something you didn't know — email me within 30 days and I'll refund you. You don't have to explain, and you don't have to return or delete anything. That is a voluntary guarantee I offer because I would rather you had your money back than felt you'd wasted it.
1. Your statutory right of withdrawal
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract was concluded.
To exercise this right, you must inform me — Hannah [SURNAME], [STREET], [POSTCODE] [CITY], Germany, [EMAIL] — by a clear statement (for example, a letter sent by post or an email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, I shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which I am informed about your decision to withdraw. I will use the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in no event will you be charged any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
Early expiry of the right of withdrawal
Your right of withdrawal expires early for a contract for the supply of digital content not on a physical medium if I have begun performance of the contract after you have:
- expressly consented to my beginning performance before the end of the withdrawal period; and
- confirmed your awareness that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.
Because this product is delivered immediately after payment, you are asked to give both at checkout. If you give them and the download is made available to you, your statutory right of withdrawal ends at that point.
This is why the guarantee in section 2 exists. It is not required of me, and it applies whether or not your statutory right has expired.
Model withdrawal form
If you wish to withdraw from the contract, you may complete and return this form.
I/We (*) hereby give notice that I/We (*) withdraw from my/our (*) contract of sale of the following goods (*)/for the provision of the following service (*),
Ordered on (*)/received on (*): ______________
Name of consumer(s): ______________
Address of consumer(s): ______________
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is notified on paper): ______________
Date: ______________
(*) Delete as appropriate.
2. My 30-day guarantee
Separately from anything above, I offer a voluntary refund for 30 days from purchase, no questions asked.
- No reason needed. You don't have to justify it or tell me what was wrong, though I'm always glad of the feedback.
- Reading it first is fine. It's a document — of course you'll have read it. That is not a reason for me to refuse.
- Nothing to return. You cannot un-download a file and I won't pretend otherwise.
- Full amount. Refunded by the original payment method, normally within 5 working days of me confirming.
To claim it, email [EMAIL] from the address you bought with, or include your order number.
3. The one limit
This guarantee is for people who bought the product and found it wasn't for them. It is not a route to obtaining the product for free at scale. I reserve the right to decline a refund, and to decline future sales, where there is clear evidence of abuse — for example repeated purchase-and-refund cycles across multiple orders or accounts, or redistribution of the files.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
4. If something is wrong with the file
If the download fails, the file is corrupted, or you never received the email, that isn't a refund situation in the first instance — contact me and I'll send you a working copy. If I can't, you get your money back regardless of how long it has been.
The checkout consent must genuinely be implemented. Section 1 describes a tick box at checkout where the buyer consents to immediate delivery and confirms they lose the withdrawal right. If that box does not exist in your actual checkout, the statutory right does not expire and this section is inaccurate. Configure it in your payment platform before you sell.
Keep the sales page and this page in agreement. The sales page currently promises "30-day refund, no questions" in three places. If you change the period here, change it there too.
This is a draft, not legal advice. The withdrawal instruction is closely modelled on the statutory template because deviating from it is where people get caught. Have it reviewed.
